Twitter Beefs Up Two-Factor Authentication Account Security With Physical Security Keys

Twitter is looking to strengthen its account security options by expanding its support for physical security keys to mobile devices. With this expansion, users will be able to use physical security keys when they login to Twitter through their mobile devices.

What do they mean by physical keys?

Twitter made created extra security measures available back in 2018 using their WebAuthn API, which allows for additional account security through the use of different devices, such as security keys, mobile phones, and TouchId.

Now that Twitter is expanding this authentication support, they are bringing it to all device types. This means that there are more ways for users to keep their accounts secure. This means you don’t have to always use your mobile phone number for such a purpose.
