A new page design is being rolled out by Google for the Google News search results while on desktop. The new design takes away the news clusters of stories and brings you a single featured story in a card-like result.
The following image is of the before and after. The left one shows the new card-like design, and the right one shows the old cluster results for Google News search results.
this interface is rolling out now. As of this writing, I did not see the cards, but more and more searchers are seeing this new design. Google confirmed this news on the afternoon of July 11.
